Stormy Outtake

This was originally in Nate and Meena's honeymoon (takes place in the cave):

She rolled so that she was on top of me. Moving her fingers to my pecs, she dug her nails into my skin hard. I hissed in pleasurable pain. I knew by the salty scent that she had broken the surface of my flesh and I was bleeding. Bending over, she licked the blood and moaned.

“God…you taste so good,” she murmured. She froze as she looked at me with worry in her eyes. “Are you feeling okay?”

“Fuck yeah,” I muttered, placing my hands on her waist so I could move her back and forth over my lower half.

“My venom—” she said in a strangled voice.

“Oh…” I replied, suddenly becoming aware of what she was getting at. I looked down at my chest and saw her nail marks. They were already healing over except for one. There was no sign that I had been infected though. I reached for the cut skin and squeezed. More blood dribbled out. I scooped it up with my index finger and placed it across Meena’s mouth like sloppy lipstick. Her tongue instantly darted out and liked away the residue, groaning in contentment.

Meena,” I said in a desperate tone, shedding my swim trunks. “I need to be inside you…now.”

I decided to take this scene out because I've read one too many stories where the characters get off on their loved one's blood. LOL, though it's smut and it's all been done before, I thought this was bordering on being cliché.

Absent Imprint Outtake

When I sat down to work on chapter 18 of Absent, I had an idea for Dylan. I was going to have Leah find out on their wedding day that he was a millionaire. I even wrote out a long scene about it. But there was something about the idea that really bugged me so I slept on it. When I woke up, I realized I didn't like it.

I love Dylan. He's one of my favorite OCs. And what I love most about him is he's just your average, every day guy. He's not a superhero; he doesn't have the power to become a wolf. He's just a guy you could randomly meet at a burger joint and fall head over heels in love with. By making him a millionaire, he became sort of unattainable so I took the twist out. But I thought I'd throw it on the blog anyway. Here's what I originally wrote:

Chapter 18 - Outtake

Rachel and Kim gave me a hug before leaving, Kim dragging her daughter with her. Nessie stood up from the bed and straightened the dress over her baby bump. “Well, we have to do the traditional, something new, something old, something borrowed, something blue,” she said.

Tracy handed me a package. “This is something new. It’s from Dylan.”

I placed my bouquet on the table and opened up my gift. It was a Tiffany & Co box. I opened the lid and gasped at what I saw. Dylan had given me a pair of earrings set in platinum that formed into a teardrop-shape. Inside each teardrop was a pink diamond that matched my engagement ring.

“They’re beautiful,” I whispered even as I frowned. I’d been with Dylan for five years now. We lived well, but these earrings were expensive. I glanced down at my engagement ring. It was flawless, beautifully cut and in a pristine setting. I never really thought about the cost, but given the matching earrings I began to wonder. How on earth did he afford these? Taking the earrings out of the box, I put them on my ears.

“My turn,” my mom said. She handed me a lace handkerchief with the word kwoli stitched intricately into the fabric. The word meant “wolf” in Quileute. The legend of the wolf warriors had always been so important to my people. Even though it was a part of my past and something I wanted to forget, I felt myself turning emotional just the same. The handkerchief had been given to my mom on her wedding day from my Grandma Clearwater. It had been passed down for several generations.

“Great-great-grandma’s handkerchief,” I murmured.

“Which takes care of something old,” my mom replied. I sniffed and put the cloth gently next to my wedding boutique.

“Here’s something borrowed,” Renesmee said. “It’s Grandmother Esme’s. When I told her the colors of your dress, she insisted I let you use this. I had it professionally cleaned so it’d sparkle for the occasion.”

She said this while glancing at Whitney and Tracy. I knew she was subtly trying to say that she had it cleaned so it wouldn’t stink like leech. She handed me a diamond necklace that looked like it had come straight out of the early 1900s. The diamonds formed multiple jeweled flowers, each one connected by a diamond latch. Inside each flower was a pink stone. I had a feeling they were diamonds as well. I knew everything about the necklace was real.

“Holy shit, Ness,” I said. “I can’t wear this. The Queen doesn’t own jewelry this nice.”

“You have to. I’m pregnant and emotional. You wouldn’t want to reject my offer in my current delicate state, would you? Didn’t think so,” she said as she took the necklace out of my hands and put it around my neck. I felt nervous just wearing it.

“Which brings us to something blue,” Whitney said, wiggling her eyebrows. She moved over to the couch and placed her leg on it. Her dress skirt hiked up slightly revealing a blue garter. She took it off her leg and handed it to me. The garter was made of blue silk. Attached to it was a heart shaped jewel. I handed it to Emily and she helped me step into it. Once it was in place, I hugged each one of them.

“Thank you so much for everything,” I said.

There was a knock on the door and I heard Seth say, “It’s time.”

My stomach was filled with sudden nerves. Everyone started to file out, but I grabbed Whitney’s hand before she left.

“You okay?” she asked. “You’re not going to spew or anything, are you? I know when I married Brandon I threw up right before—”

“I remember,” I interrupted. “I’m fine. I was just wondering about something.”

“What’s up?”

I hesitated. I had gotten to know Dylan’s family over the years. They were your typical middle class Americans. And yet I couldn’t shake the feeling…

“Does Dylan have money?”

“Well duh,” Whitney said before she looked at me closely. “You didn’t know?”

I shook my head. How could I? From what I knew of Dylan, he’d worked his way through college, sometimes working two jobs at once. I began to wonder what else I didn’t know about him.

“How much does he have?” I whispered. “Is he in your class?”

“Have you ever heard of the company Gordon-Dutton?”

I nodded. Gordon-Dutton was one of the world's premiere companies.

“It was started by his great-grandfather,” Whitney said.

“But I don’t understand,” I said. “He never gave a hint that he had money. His parents live in the suburbs, not in some mansion.”

Whitney shrugged. “From what I understand, Dylan’s grandfather wanted his dad to marry someone from their own class, but when his dad met and fell in love his mom, who was very middle class, the old man disowned him. When Dylan’s grandpa died last year, he left his shares of the company to Dylan, Kyle, and Tracy. Kyle is on the board now though he operates out of their New York branch.”

“Why didn’t Dylan tell me any of this?”

“I don’t know,” Whitney replied. “Some wealthy people like to flaunt it. They try to get into the tabloids and ‘release’ sex tapes. Others don’t want the attention. If they can go through their lives without people knowing about their bank accounts, they're happy. You don’t know how many false friends you can get as soon as someone knows you have money.”

I shook my head. “I need to talk to him. Now.”

“Leah, the wedding’s about to start.”

“I’m not marrying him until I talk to him,” I stated.

“Are you serious?” Whitney asked incredulously.

I lifted an eyebrow at her. “Please go get him.”

She shook her head, but said, “Fine.”

She started to leave as my mom came back in. “Is everything okay?” she asked. “We thought you were right behind us.”

“I need to talk to Dylan,” I said as Whitney left the room.

“Are you having second thoughts?” my mom asked in confusion.

“I just need to talk to him. Privately,” I replied. My mom nodded and she left. Looking around the room, I headed into the bathroom and shut the door.

A few minutes later, I heard Dylan say, “Leah?”

“I’m in the bathroom. Don’t come in here though. It’s bad luck to see me.”

I heard him approach the door. “Well, if you’re worried about bad luck, I guess that means you’re not about to stand me up.”

I knew he was trying to joke, but he sounded worried just the same.

“I need to know something,” I said. “You’re rich, right?”

“Oh,” I heard him murmur. There was a slight thump against the bathroom door as if he were resting his head against it. “Is it a problem?”

“I don’t understand…you never indicated…”

“I didn’t have money until last year when my grandfather died. I never even knew the guy and I didn’t mourn him. He hated my mom and thought she was trash. With the exception of buying your ring and earrings, I haven’t touched a dime of his money since I inherited it.”

“But why didn’t you tell me?”

“I didn’t think you were one to care about things like that,” he replied coolly.

“Give me a break, you know I don’t give a shit,” I snapped. “It’s just that, I feel like you’ve had this big secret and I never even had a clue about it. Is there anything else you haven’t told me?”

“Leah.” I heard Dylan sigh. “You know me better than anyone. All the important things you need to know about me, you’re already aware of.”

I didn’t say anything. After a couple of minutes of awkward silence, I heard Dylan say nervously, “You’re still going to marry me, right?”

“How rich are you?” I wondered.

His voice was frustrated as he said, “If we wanted to retire right now and buy penthouses in every expensive city in the world, we could do it with enough money left over for our grandkids.”

Holy shit! Nervously, I said, “I wouldn’t make a good society wife.”

“I have no intention of living in high society. I grew up middle class, remember? I like what I do for a living. Our lives aren’t going to change because I happen to be a millionaire.”

I sucked in a breath at that statement. There was a knock on the door in the outer suite. I heard Dylan’s brother say, “Are you guys getting married? The guests are getting restless.”

“Give us a minute,” Dylan said and I heard the door shut. “So how about it, Leah?” he asked. “Do you still want to marry me?”

I heard the anxiety in his voice and my heart melted. “Yes, I do.”

“Because I’m a millionaire?” he joked.

“Of course,” I responded. “Now that I know I have a sugar daddy, I’m not passing that up.”

I heard him chuckle. “I love you, Leah,” he whispered.

“I love you, too,” I responded. “Now get your ass out of here so I can get out of this bathroom.”

“See you in a few…” I heard him leave the room.

Stormy Outtake

When I originally planned the chapter "Clash of the Alphas," I debated doing it in Meena's POV instead of Nate's. I even started writing it before I decided to do Nate's perspective. Here's some of what I originally wrote. This vaguely follows the official chapter as I ended up taking the final version in a different direction. It starts out after Nate shows up and begs Meena for another chance.

Meena’s POV

“It’s too much…" I told him. "We’re not good for each other. I can kill you with one slip. My brother and you will always be at each other. There will always be pain.”

“No relationship is perfect…look at what your parents went through, look at Embry and Rebecca. But some things are worth fighting for. Meena, I’m not giving up on us.”

Suddenly, Gabe was there, shaking and trembling with an anger he couldn’t stop.

“Didn’t you hear what my sister said? Get the hell out of here,” he said, giving Nate a shove.

Nate didn’t try to protect himself. He went flying back and hit a tree. You could hear one of his ribs crack, but all he did was wince before getting up again and standing his ground. The rain poured heavily over all of us. I flew into the house and started yelling for my parents.

“Dad! Mom! Gabe and Nate are going to kill each other.”

My parents hurried onto the porch and stopped. It was in time to see Gabe punch Nate with enough force that Nate flew up in the air before landing in the mud. My mom went to step off the porch to break them up, but my father put a restraining hand on her arm.

“Wait,” my father said, never taking his eyes of the boys.

“So you’re going to just let them kill each other?” I asked incredulously.

“Meena, you are going to have a long, hopefully, happy existence. The only way for that to happen is if these two figure out how to live with each other.”

I turned back and watched as Nate got up from the ground, his face bleeding, his body trembling. And yet, he still didn’t phase.

“Why isn’t he phasing?” I whispered.

“To prove to you that he can be around Gabe without wanting to attack him,” my father said, his eyes filled with admiration as he stared at Nate.

“Gabe will kill him,” I muttered with tears in my eyes as I watched my twin punch Nate in the stomach. Nate spit up blood, but he still just stood there.

“If Gabe wanted to kill him," my father pointed out. "He would have done it the first night they fought at Quil’s wedding. Nate’s an incredibly powerful wolf, but Gabe’s part vampire. Your brother needs to learn control. Nate’s already learned it. And now he’s letting Gabe figure it out.”

“Phase,” Gabe suddenly shouted, his body beginning to shake so hard he blurred.

“No,” Nate said softly. Gabe exploded, his reddish dark fur coat suddenly appearing as he took wolf form.

He snarled at Nate and crouched into attack position. Nate collapsed to his knees, weakened by his injuries. Covering one hand over his stomach, he looked at Gabe.

“I love her,” he whispered.

Gabe slowly straightened. He turned to look at me. Tears were streaming down my cheeks. He turned his head back to Nate. Letting out a sudden howl, Gabe turned and ran into the nearby forest.

“Now that that’s settled, Meena, why don’t you help get Nate out of the rain?” my father suggested.

I ran towards Nate who was still on his knees. As soon as I got close to him, he fell into an almost fetal position, his hands clutching his stomach.

"You idiot,” I murmured, leaning over him to try to block the downpour that was covering his face. “You could have been killed.”

“I love you,” was Nate’s only response. I was unable to lift his body, so I moved his head onto my lap.

“Honey, do you need help?” my mom called out.

“I’m okay,” Nate said. I looked at my mom and shook my head.

“He could have killed you,” I cried.

Nate cupped the side of my face and said, “Let me be ta'en, let me be put to death; I am content, so thou wilt have it so.”

“You don’t need to tempt death on my behalf, thank you very much.” I replied. Normally, quoting Romeo and Juliet would have gotten to me--as he very well knew--but I was still too upset by what I had just witnessed.

“How about...I love you,” Nate murmured.

“I love you,” I whispered back, tears on my cheeks mixing with the rain. I bent down just as Nate leaned up. Our lips met.

“Meena?” Nate looked up at me, his face swollen and bruised.

“Yeah?” I responded tenderly.

“After we graduate, will you marry me?”

I stared at him blankly, not sure if I heard him right. The rain continued to pour around us, large drops of water causing mud to splash up from the ground and dot Nate’s face.

“W-What?” I asked.

“Meena, I love you. I need you…I can’t honestly live without you in my life. I don’t even want to try. Please, marry me,” Nate begged.

My heart filled with a joy I had never known. I glanced back at my parents who were watching us. My dad shrugged. My Aunt Alice ran out onto the porch and began to nod her head frantically. My mom smiled happily before taking my dad and Aunt Alice’s hands and leading them back inside the house. I looked back at Nate and made my decision. Behind

“Yes,” I whispered. And then I shouted it.

New Story Sneak Peek

Okay, I still have a ways to go before I can post this, but I've been working on some ideas for Seth's story. I'll start posting it after I'm done with Stormy and Absent. Here's a sneak peek, and you can let me know what you think. (This is still tentative...I might go in a different direction before the story actually gets posted.) And just in case you're wondering, yes, I'm starting to work on the next chapter of Stormy. ;)

Seth's POV

I stared up at the church doors. How did I get here? Eight months ago, my life had been perfect. Since then, I felt as though I'd stepped onto an emotional roller coaster that didn’t seem to want to end. I ruined the life of a girl that I loved with everything I had in me by doing something unforgivable. I pulled a Sam, imprinting on one girl while still involved with another.

Coincidentally, I was pretty sure I had the strangest imprint on record. Who the fuck imprints on their brother’s sister? But that’s what happened to me.

I should probably point out that my imprint and I aren’t related. We share two separate sets of parents. We just happen to have the same half-brother.

Somewhere inside, the wedding march began to play. My bleeding heart shattered, falling into broken pieces around my feet. Because that march wasn’t meant for me. Somewhere inside...my imprint was marrying another man.

Ignoring the pull that was screaming at me to claim what was mine, I turned away from the church doors and slowly walked away…

Beautiful Deceiver Alternative Ending

A while back, I wrote a one shot called, Beautiful Deceiver, for a slash contest. I'm a fan of reading slash. The stories have a tendency to be about star-crossed lovers, which I've always been interested in, but I never thought about writing one. Then one day I was updating my extended version of First Imprint: Sam's Story on Twilighted. There was a moment between Seth and Sam in the chapter I'd been working on where Sam tries to comfort Seth after Harry died. It was completely innocent and platonic, but it made me start wondering, what if...

I checked around and saw that there were very few stories out there about this pair. So I decided to write a one shot about them and enter it into the contest. What I'm about to share is the original ending. I was never really happy with it because it was too neat and clean. At the very last minute, I changed it to the version that's actually posted. So here you go, the original ending of Beautiful Deceiver...

Excerpt

Five years after the night on the beach, I received news that Seth was returning home. Apparently, he and his girlfriend had split up and he had taken full custody of their child, a daughter. I didn't even react when I heard the news. Like Seth, I hadn't waited. I finally went out with a guy named Eric that Leah had wanted to set me up with.

Did I love him? No. But the relationship at least gave me some sexual release.

I knew the day Seth actually came back to town. I felt the pull of my imprint strengthen for the first time in years. As much as I wanted to, I didn't go looking for him. There was a part of me that was hopeful that he'd seek me out. I figured if he found me, I could take it as a sign that he was ready to finally be with me.
And when it was all said and done, that was all I really wanted. The harsh words we'd exchanged, the emptiness and worry he had caused me…none of that mattered. Just seeing Seth's smile could fill me with more contentment than anything else the world had to offer me. I knew that I'd never be complete without my imprint by my side. I had already waited nine years for him. I knew I'd continue to wait an eternity more if I had to.

But as day drifted into day without a sign of him, the hope I'd been holding onto that he'd come to me shriveled up and died. Seth obviously didn't want me and I just needed to accept that. I came to that realization two weeks after Seth returned to the rez.

Instead of moping about it, I decided to tune up my motorcycle then drive to Forks to see Eric. With my day planned, I went into my garage and opened up the large garage door so that I could let in some natural light and fresh air.

I flipped on the radio and for the first time in a very long time, I felt my spirits truly begin to rise. I was humming and working on the bike when I heard footsteps. Looking up, I was actually startled to see who it was.

He had aged since I last saw him. He now had the promised maturity he didn't have before. He also looked tired and strained. I figured that had to do with his small child and nothing to do with me.

"Hello Sam," he said softly, an unsure smile tugging on his lips.

And then he gave me a look that made my heart melt and an answering smile appear on my face. I knew in that moment that he was here for one reason and one reason only. He had finally come to me.

"Hello Seth."

The End

(This was too neat of an ending which is why I axed it.)
